Star M41 on the cap, WWII version, field, 22mm

Green painted star with sickle and hammer for caps, hats and fusillades of Soviet Army soldiers. A version from World War II production - stamped from thin steel plate and painted with dark green matt paint. The most rounded of the small stars. The easiest way to recognise them is by the positioning of the moustache for attachment - the wartime version had the whiskers deviated from vertical. In the post-war production, the whiskers were already aligned perfectly vertically. Arm width 22mm
Such stars were in use from their introduction until the collapse of the Soviet Union. They were not segregated in any particular way and were issued to soldiers on a "star is a star" - because we know that for collectors and re-enactors this is important, we have therefore sorted them into basic types.
